The World Through the Viewfinder
In my presentation The World Through the Viewfinder, I show my best photographs from four decades and tell the stories behind the often very well-known images. I trace the journey from my beginnings in the 1970s with simple cameras and negative film, through the era of slide photography, to my current work with the most advanced digital cameras and high-tech camera drones.
For more than forty years, I have travelled the world with my camera, capturing its diverse landscapes and cultures in images. In The World Through the Viewfinder, I look back on these 300 photographic journeys, during which I first photographed deserts, then polar regions, and finally the entire Earth. I show special images, talk about the changes in travelling and photography over four decades, and offer tips for taking better pictures. The World Through the Viewfinder is neither a workshop nor a live multimedia presentation; rather, it is a passionate illustrated talk for photographers and travel enthusiasts.
