Even during my first presentations, I noticed the great impact that images projected onto a screen can have when combined with a live and freely spoken commentary. The first 30 years of my career as a presenter were devoted to slide projectors and slides that were blended into one another as my medium. In 2009, I then switched to digital projection using beamers.

Quite consciously, I have retained my presentation style even in the digital age. I completely avoid video inserts and effects and rely on the power of images. When images, music, and commentary come together, the effect is often much stronger than that of a video sequence. In addition, a good image conveys content and emotions in a much shorter time than a film can.
